premonitions?

I went to sleep for two hours this afternoon when I got back from work, coz I was really really tired after my latest skype exploits, smile, an i dreamt about one of my old school teachers. I'd gone to visit her her and something wasn't quite right. Someone had died or something and she was really fraill and, not her usual self. I havent' spoken to her since Christmas so when I woke up, I thought i ought to ring her. When I spoke to her, she told me that it was lovely to hear from me, especially today, because today was the very day last year that her husband died! Also, when I woke up, I thought I'd been asleep for hours and hours. I thought it was tomorrow, but I'd only slept for two hours. It's one example of numerous times something like this has happened and I just find it really rather odd, freaky even maybe. So as the subject suggests, I was wondering how many of you believe in premonitions? I knew this lady's husband had died last year, but that was all she said to me at Christmas, she didn't tell me when, so I didn't know. I couldn't have known.

I believe that God can reveal himself in dreams, its happened to me once before.

Umm, I don't think she was talking about god.

I have dreams about people. Like I had a dream about two of my friends who I hadn't spoken to in about two years. I knew they were going to call me and a few days later they did. I can sence things about my closest friends like if they are upset or in trouble without them telling me. I know how situations will turn out sometimes. I don't really know how to explain it, but I can sence things... I know I have some kind of psychic ability. I think we all do in some way its just stronger for some people than others.

Maria, I meant that I've had premonitions having to do with God things that have happened to me. Anyway, I didn't ask you; I was merely voicing my opinion...

For example, once, I had a dream that started out quite random; I was riding in a weird place on a bike, which, of course, isn't realistic for me because, well, I haven't ridden one in years on end so... but anyway! LOL. So I found myself in a gym sort of room and I saw a friend of mine whom I was having problems with at the moment; people were telling me things about him, those people were his friends and I was getting sick of being Melmel in the middle of their stupid drama, so I had blown up at them the previous day. Anyway, I saw him, and he approached me and gave me a hug and said "hey it's gonna be okay". well I woke up the next morning and immediately got online to see if he'd be there, for that was his last day of school and after that I would have no means of contacting him besides the phone, which I wasn't ready to cal him yet; i was still too scared and not healed enough. so I saw one of the people involved in the mess, and she said he had already gone but he had said that he and I were on good terms. When I had blown up at them all the day before which was a bit out of line but understandable, I was praying and praying that somehow it would work out or just end whatever God had in His will. I got my sister and my best friend to pray for me too and wam. the dream happened, and i woke up the next morning to a happy ending/beginning. That's only one example.

Yeah I belive in them, because they happen to me all the time, and have happened a lot in the past. Most of the time they come in dreams, although they can happen while I'm awake.

Yes, I believe in them too. I have had a couple of preminitions before. One of them being, that I had dreamed that a friend of mine was going to get into a car accident, and ran into another car, making her car roll into the ditch. The next day, I received a phone call from another friend telling me that the friend i had just dreamed about was in a car accident on her way home from work. She had rolled into the ditch, and wasn't too badly injured but, in lots of pain! I found that to be one of the creepiest preminitions that I've experienced. The other one that I experienced was when I was thinking about my dad who passed away last year because of cancer, and how he used to sing that one song called All Star by Smash Mouth to me just to bug me because he new i didn't like it. Anyway, while I was thinking about him, i was on a bus in Toronto, and that song happened to come on 30 seconds later.

Well okay, that is all I've got to say, sorry to ramble!

I've only had 1 preminition and it came true much to my shock...my brother has had far too many to list here..but he did say to Ardeth who adored Ferrari and forumla 1..that ye'l no be dancin this year to yer favourite national anthems" and to be sure Ferrari haven't won 1 single race...how Ally could have known, before the season had even started, is a puzzle which even he is at a loss to solve...

I also believe in preminitions. I have had many during my life. I've drempt up convos that have been had, as well as had a sense of major urgency when my uncle was dying. Things like that, and yes, it's very scarry

Post 12 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Sunday, 24-Jul-2005 17:28:19

Well I drempt twice that one of my friends was pregnant, and on both occasions she was. I also drempt that the same friend had split from her husband, even though I hadn’t spoken to her for a while, and that had happened also, I’m not so sure though whether that would be classed as a premonition, more of a, seeing what’s happening. I’d class a preminition to be more seeing something that is going to happen in the future, and if that be the case the question is this, if you drempt someone was going to be in a car accident for instance, would you tell them? After all, we all dream horrible things sometimes, doesn’t necessarily mean that they will come true. Should we really panic people into thinking that horrible things might happen to them when in actual fact that might not be the case?

i don't belive in them or should i say they have never happened to me.

Hmm, I wouldn't say anything I don't think, mainly for the meer fact that I don't think I'd be believed.

I've had repeated nightmares that someone has died, then it came true, a few months after the nightmare. If I have it three or more times, I get scared. This has happened four times in my life.

I had one time where I saw this girl's face in my mind, a long blonde haired girl sitting on a swing, and the name Erika with a k came to mind. Turns out the girl on the swing was real and her name was Micha and she took me to a Metallica show where i met another girl named Erika... with a k! Another time, it was a week before I was supposed to see Blind Guardian and I felt like something bad was going to happen and saw this big white flame of fire in my mind. There show did get cancelled, though not due to fire or anything, but one of their favorite books is The Silmarillion, and in it, there's a character who burns to death who reminds me a lot of their lead singer, so I felt like he was communicating with me through showing that character's death before i read the book that something bad, i.e. the cancellation, would happen.

Hi,

Well I do hold a very keen interest in this subject. I've had several things happen to me in the passed. Including feeling when someone close to me isn't right, many different things. It's all second nature to me now. Recently I went to a friends house and with the help of a guide I managed to get rid of an invisible resident in the house. He was a builder that died whilst he was building the place and his spirit got effectively trapped there. Nothing violent, just a person who had lost his way and needed help to be pushed along to where he should be.

I actually belong to a mailing list called The Garden, it deals with all things of a psychic nature. If anybody wants to learn more then PM me and I'll give you the subscription address happily. Especially if things are happening that you don't quite understand or don't know how to handle, yes it can get rather funny sometimes.

I do know that often the deceased are unable for whatever reason, to accept their death, it must be very distressing to think why are these intruders in my house touching my stuff ect .. thank goodness there are those who understand the situation.

Well it's just people needing help, they are still people after all, just on a different level to us. Non-physical if you like. Half of them don't want to scare or frighten anybody but if you think sometimes about why a baby cries or throws a tantrum, it's because it's the only way they can either let you know they are there, or tell you there's something wrong. They can't comunicate what it is, but they can comunicate their presents to you.

Keep in mind all the premonitions and dreams we have that do not come true, or come true much later. Being that people have so many dreams/premonitions, some of them are bound to come true, and we're bound to have some freaky coincidences and unusual events. It's all probability. However, we tend to remember the stuff that comes true more than the stuff that does not. Also, we sometimes twist things around to make them sound unusual or psychic. It's kind of like the theory that, after billions and billions of trials, the unlikely chemical reactions needed for life finally took place. And billions and billions more trials, and we have life as we know it today. And now, we can see evolution taking place, but we can't directly observe its long term effects (like the complete change from one species to another). It all seems so amazing and mysterious, but when you think about it, it just might be more ordinary and natural.
